S10 Fitness

With the 2016/2017 school year upon us, S10 Fitness would like to formally introduce ourselves to PLHS. For the past 5 years, we have been fortunate enough to volunteer and assist Coach Van Heuven and Coach Hastings during 6th period Athletics and after school with the participating student athletes. This letter is to inform you of our intended role as a resource for your students, children, and athletes. We are offering our services voluntarily to guide and monitor the physical development of all participatory student athletes in conjunction with their chosen sport or sports. We have a separate training facility located right in the Pt. Loma area, but are focusing our primary efforts on working on the PLHS campus. We specialize in strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, injury prevention, and general health. Since this will be our fifth year at PLHS, we would also like to offer additional training options at the group or individual level at our private facility. Based on the volume of student athletes, we also plan to offer specialized price discounts for PLHS students. Our staff of David Sten and Christopher Daly have an extensive fitness background and work experience of nearly 25 years combined. We extend an invite to view our facility, testimonials, and personal biographies on our company website www.S10fitness.com . We are passionate and qualified to be an integral part of creating a safer, more productive and educated student athlete.
We look forward to answering any and all questions or concerns you may have for our team. Thank you for your consideration and have a great year.

Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation
Protect our Pointers organized a free cardiac screening that took place in the PLHS Main Gym on Sunday May 20th, 2012. All 8-12th grade students in the Point Loma Area were invited to participate.

More information on this program please see epsavealife.org.

EP Save a Life has now screened over 5000 kids and identified more than 150 that had previously undiagnosed heart conditions; some receiving heart procedures. Eric's Foundation is blessed and grateful for the strong support of the community and its belief in our mission of raising awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Together we can save lives through awareness, education and action!

Students 12 to 19 are invited to get a free heart screening on Sunday, November 8 at Francis Parker School in Linda Vista. Parents simply register at https://epsavealife.org/register/ to download a screening packet that you complete and bring to the event. Or, walk-ins are accepted all day with paperwork available onsite. Screenings take less than an hour to complete.

The screening is offered by the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation, which has screened nearly 17,000 teens for heart abnormalities that put 1 in 100 students at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest - a leading cause of death in youth under 25, and the #1 killer of student athletes.

Students wear t-shirt, sweat pants or sports shorts to the screening. Girls wear a sports bra. If possible, please bring a self-addressed stamped enveloped in which a copy of your child's EKG will be mailed back to you to add to their medical records.

We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to screen your teen.
