January 2016

Dear Gala Supporter,

Thank you very much for your generous contribution that you made at our 90th Anniversary Point Loma High Gala. On behalf of all of the PLHS students, faculty, administration and the Pointer Association volunteers, we are sincerely grateful for your support!

The Pointer Association wants to reflect on the good will and generosity of the Pointer community and provide you with an update on how the funds raised in our celebration will be used. Thanks to the tenacity and generosity of Gala volunteers, alumni association members, donors, bidders and attendees, we were able to exceed our goal of $50,000 by raising net proceeds of $61,400! The money earned through this extraordinary event will benefit current and future Pointers and members of the Pointer community for many years to come. We were able to purchase:

  • Guitars, Music Stands, Tuners, Strings, Yoga Mats, Dumbbells, Toner Resistance Bands, Science Lab Stools, Art Tables, Nikon Cameras & Lenses, RAM
  • In the process to purchase a new sound system for the Larry Zeiger Performing Arts Center, and a new multi-sport scoreboard for Bennie Edens Field

Our organization's success is dependent upon our community's support and interest in helping Point Loma High School continue to provide an excellent educational experience for all students. All of the items and projects funded were chosen as they provide immediate benefit and/or complement planned improvements being provided by SDUSD. We are so proud of the collaboration between the Alumni Association, the Pointer Association Volunteers, PLHS Faculty and Staff Members and Principal Hans Becker. This event would not have been successful without their efforts.

Thank you again on behalf of the Point Loma High School Pointer Association!

Go Pointers!
